Please note that all member applications now have to be verified by your employer ie. the individual that you identify on the joining application. We need to ensure that all applicants accessing member benefits are PAs. We will send an email to the employer to allow them to verify your application.
Blue Sky Social Care Card
A Blue Sky Card recognises you as a vital worker and a valued member of the Scottish healthcare system. On top of this, it also grants access to discounts in your favourite shops, both online and in-person across the UK.
Select Partner Membership Application form type. Select P A Network Scotland, in Partner Membership drop down list and add your PANS ID No. in the box beside.
10% Insurance Discount
Insurance from leading providers protects you against accidents on the job.
There’s also personal accident cover to provide a financial safety net if you suffer an injury on the job.
We’re aware that many insurance companies offer PA and PA employer insurance products. However, Fish Insurance offer much more in addition to liability insurance.

- Protection against errors and omissions in the provision of medical treatment which you are qualified to perform
- Accidental damage to property. You must pay the first £100 of any property damage claims
- Accidental bodily injury to any person
- Legal costs and expenses incurred in defending prosecution under food, health and safety acts
- Up to £10,000 personal accident cover, with hospital allowance, if you suffer serious accidental injury whilst carrying out support duties for your employer. No more than £50,000 can be claimed in total in any policy year

PANS Members Group
The PA Members Group is your platform to be heard, to connect with others who understand your role, and to ensure that the voices of PAs are part of the decisions that shape your future.

PA Advice and Support
Being a personal assistant is just that. Personal. That’s why having healthy relationships is so important.
We understand that harmonious, supportive working relationships require certain skills to maintain. We also understand that feeling comfortable working in someone’s home and upholding productive, healthy relationships is important. With PANS support, you can find answers to common issues you might run into and move forward with confidence.

You will receive quarterly newsletters regarding updates to your role, or updates of any benefits we have added to the membership.
You can opt out of these emails if you wish, just simply unsubscribe via the link on the email from pans@wea.ac.uk, and we’ll remove you from our marketing campaigns.
We also regularly post job vacancies on our Facebook page and 14 local-authority groups, and provide updates through our News and Event section of our website.
Our basic membership is completely free!
Once you have your ID Badge, you can choose to upgrade to PANS Plus for £35 for a two-year membership, or £20 for one year.
Yes, you can join PANS, as long as you support someone who receives an SDS Budget 1, 2, 3 or 4.
Please note: If you are self-employed, we still require the name and contact details of one individual you support, or a client’s family member, who can confirm your position as PA.
Unfortunately we can not accept applications from unpaid carers.
However, we can still assist with any queries or concerns you may have relating to the role.

There is no cost for a replacement badge.
Unfortunately we cannot accept applicants who list themselves as their employer.
We need confirmation you are actively working as PA by an individual you support, to be able to process your application.
We do require confirmation of your role from someone you support. We can also accept confirmation from an employer family member.
Apart from our initial email asking to confirm your position, we will not contact the individual. Employer details are removed from our system after PA confirmation.
If the person you support does not have an email address, we can ring them if a phone number is provided.
