Personal Assistant Required (Relief) – Dundee

I am looking for a Personal Assistant to support my 6-year-old son who is non-verbal and has a diagnosis of autism with global development delay. He loves to go to the park, soft play, Science Centre, swimming as well as other activities.

 

Main Duties:

 

• Provide sensitive emotional support – promoting choice and encouraging new experiences.
• Accompany to take part in social and leisure activities as and when appropriate.

 

Essential Characteristics:

 

• Caring attitude and will treat him with respect and dignity.
• Life or work experience with children with autism and additional support needs.
• He can, at times, display behaviours that challenge so having the ability, patience and understanding to support him when this happens.
• During school holidays hours will vary so the ability to be flexible.
• PVG membership will be required.

 

Desirable Characteristics:

 

• Driver with access to own car would be preferred.
