Equal Footing Porty (EFP) is led by local people with lived experience of disability or caring

I am co-ordinator for portobello based grassroots organisation Equal Footing Porty and a full time wheelchair user. I am looking for somebody to support me for 4 hours per week in a flexible capacity
Salary: £25/ph for 4 hours per week ( to be worked flexibly in discussion with Project Lead- for

Start Date: February 2025 – Ongoing on a freelance basis (responsible for own tax and NI)
Duties
As Personal Assistant you will:
– Help me physically set up events (moving furniture, going stairs to fetch things, reaching stuff I
can’t reach), help with the teas and coffees at events.
– Support me to reach my destination and return home safely (eg if I had to take public transport
to a challenging environment)
– Take notes in meetings with local stakeholders and the council etc
– Accompany me on pavement mapping days in east Edinburgh, inputting digital data into our
drop kerb map.
– Part of my role involves enabling other wheelchair users to experience using a handbike from
our community bike library, so I’m looking for a cycle confident person to assist with the
practicalities of getting equipment in and out of the container and accompanying us on led rides
as physical support.
