Free PVG Checks for New Personal Assistants

From August 1st, Eligible Personal Assistants starting their new role will no longer have to pay for their Protection of Vulnerable Groups scheme check.

The fee waiver applies to PAs who:

• Are starting a new job or taking up a new position
• Are directly paid by an employer funded through Self-Directed Support Option 1 and/or Independent Living Fund Scotland
• Submit their PVG Application between 1st August 2026 and 31st July 2027.
  This also includes Personal Assistants supporting Children. Eligible PAs should submit an offline application, by email.

The prefix “FSC” must be included in the relevant sections and in the email subject line, and the payment section should be left blank.
