Are you interested in joining a dedicated team providing 24 support to care for CC in her own home? You would be working in a team providing 2:1 support during the day.
About CC:
No two days are the same with CC, she likes to be busy and you could be supporting her at a hydrotherapy session; helping her to create some noise at her music class; competing with her at 10-pin bowling or having a dance party in the kitchen. CC LOVES music and has very eclectic taste – she could be dancing to Pink, Avicii, Queen or nursery rhymes. She also has a wicked sense of humour and loves nothing more than having Alexa play 37 farts in a row or hearing someone drop a mug – that will prompt the most infectious giggle!
CC is now beginning the post school phase of her life and we would welcome team members who can bring an educational underpinning to the team. CC requires so much support that it is really important that she gets the opportunities to make choices about her life in as many situations as possible. She loves to be involved and will thrive when given the time and opportunity to develop her independence.
CC is 18 and has complex physical, learning and health needs and requires a lot of support to live her best life. She has multiple health conditions which require her team to be able to support her to manage these conditions, mostly at home but sometimes in hospital. As with all aspects of CC’s care needs, previous experience is not a necessity as in house and external training will be given.
We are looking to recruit to fill contracts totalling 48 hours which can be either 12; 24 or 36 hour contracts to fit with the shift patterns. The post will include weekends, public holidays, covering annual leave and absences.
We welcome applications from anyone with an interest in working in a small team meeting CC’s complex care needs. We are keen to hear from students, perhaps in the fields of health and social care who are looking for relevant work experience during their training.
Requirements:
- You will be willing to undertake all the necessary training to equip you to be an integral part of CC’s team.
- You will be reliable; compassionate; trustworthy; both a team player and able to work on your own initiative
- You will bring your best self to the team and use your skills and qualities to help CC live her best life
- You will be willing to join the PVG (Protection of Vulnerable Groups) scheme
- You will be sufficiently competent in IT to undertake online training and work with digital care plans
- Ideally you will have a clean driving licence and be able and willing to drive a wheelchair accessible vehicle (after training)
