Does the thought of maths send you into a panic?

Is your household thrown into chaos when it's time for maths homework?

Does the idea of budgeting leave you in a cold sweat?

You're not alone! The UK has some of the highest levels of maths anxiety in the world. The good news is that maths anxiety can be tackled using a few simple, easy-to-learn strategies. Many people believe that you're either a maths person or you're not, but research shows that everyone can improve their number skills with the right motivation and support.

The WEA has a range of free courses that can help you improve your number skills, including:

  • Supporting Children's Numeracy
  • Maths Anxiety: Simple steps to addressing this common problem
  • Budgeting Skills: From bargain-hunting tips to money saving strategies and everything in between
  • Numeracy for Health: Number skills to improve your health and wellbeing
  • Cooking on a Budget: The food you love for less

At the moment these courses are only available to those living in Fife but will soon roll out across Glasgow and the Highlands too. If you'd like to talk about our courses, or have any other questions, please get in touch with Bex: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
