We are looking for a second personal assistant to help a 17 year old female with her personal care. The individual has cerebral palsy and mobility issues which means needs assistance to transfer into her wheelchair. She would need help with personal care to get washed and dressed for school in the morning with some light housework as tidying up after the client would be helpful. This lovely individual requires assistance 3x days a week to have a shower in the evening also.
Applicants must have a caring attitude, have a good sense of humour, be reliable with a positive and flexible approach to work. Having experience with hoist use is essential.
This is a temporary post until the end of June 2023 where the support package will be reviewed and possibility to extend contract can be confirmed.

A carer / personal assistant supports their employer with a wide range of tasks, helping to increase their independence and make a real difference to their quality of life.
You’ll be working directly with an older male with a physical disability and a younger outlook, who lives in the Clydebank area, to help them with various aspects of their daily life. You’ll be employed directly by an individual who is managing and paying for their own care through Self Directed Support.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support with their social, medical and physical activities;
- Going to medical appointments, days out and meetings, subject to daily activities
- Helping with some personal care
- Support with tasks around the house, such as shopping, cleaning and cooking;
- Willingness to learn the job and undertake relevant training
- Carry out any other reasonable duties required by the employer
Days and times:
- 32 hours per week normally between Monday to Friday. This will be on a flexible basis dependent on needs of both employer and employee as some evening / weekend cover may be required. However, notice will be given.

The employer is a young lady in her 30s, with a cheeky sense of humour who enjoys a good laugh. She likes to grow her own vegetables as much as she can, and enjoys cuddling her cat in the evenings. She has Cerebral Palsy which affects all four limbs, but more so her legs, and uses an electric wheelchair.
She is very keen on technology enabling disabled people and has various wi fi appliances which she can control namely robot vacuum cleaner, wi-fi oven, wi-fi washing machine, - wi fi TV, wii-fi heating controls, kettle, automatic doors & lights.
She is politically active and since covid, she attends meetings online being passionate about Scottish Independence. All covid injections are up to date and PAs are required to wear FFP2 masks, however extra breaks are given for comfort. You will be assisting with all aspects of daily life including companionship.
