A self-employed individual is required to provide care for an elderly lady living alone in her own home. A total of 35 hours per week are required: Tuesdays and Fridays from 09:30 to 13:00; and every day from 17:00 to 21:00. Precise hours may be adjusted depending on the applicant’s profile and availability. This would be part of a self-directed-support (SDS) care package, to supplement the team presently covering nights (21:00 to 09:00) and most mornings.

Tasks will include:

  • Showering/washing; dressing; making bed; and tidying bedroom, clothes cupboard and shower room.
  • Driving to appointments (Doctor; pharmacy; food shopping; hairdresser…).
  • Accompanying for walks outdoors.
  • Meal times (to complement pre-cooked meals delivered three times per week): basic food heating/preparation, setting table, and tidying/washing up.

For continuity of care ideally this position will be for by one person however consideration will be given to the role being filled by two different people

Additional information: Driver with own transport essential. Work is in a non-smoking environment. Work history and references are required. Experience required: Previous experience of working and of providing personal care is advantageous but not essential; the applicant must, above all, be caring and responsible.
