Health and Safety

Whilst overall it is your employer’s responsibility to ensure your health & safety at work in their home– everyone has a role to play. If your job includes moving, lifting and assisting your employer you should receive training and then regular refresher training to keep both you and your employer safe.

Throughout Scotland, adults are at risk from all kinds of harm.  Harm can be physical, psychological, financial or sexual.  Harm can also mean neglect.

This Code of Conduct for Personal Assistants is intended for people who work in a paid support or caring role and to provide guidance - especially for those who may be new to the care industry.

If your job includes moving, lifting and assisting your employer you should receive training and then regular refresher training to keep both you and your employer safe.
