Food Hygiene Awareness

Food Hygiene awareness session will be held in Kilmarnock on Weds 28th March 2018.  Running from 10am to 1pm the course will be held in WEA premises, Hill Street, Kilmarnock

By the end of the session learners will be able to:

  • describe food safety terms commonly used when discussing industry practice
  • explain the consequences of poor food safety and hygiene
  • demonstrate practical activities to prevent and control hazards in the kitchen
  • discuss awareness of high risk food groups and how to minimise risk
  • differentiate between common myths and facts surrounding food hygiene
  • detail the importance of personal hygiene
  • evaluation different methods of keeping surfaces and equipment hygienically clean
